BREAKING NEWS: Okay so not sure when I decided to turn this site into news updates regarding Star Wars, but this is super exciting! It has recently been announced that Boba Fett will make a comeback in The Mandalorian Season 2.
We're coming at you with a short one here today, guys. But, what a way to end Star Wars Week!
Just today, it was announced that actor Temuera Morrison, who played Boba's father, Jango, in Episode II: Attack of the Clones, will have a small part to play as Boba Fett in the upcoming season this fall. He has more recently acted as the voice of Boba himself in Star Wars: Battlefront, yet this will be his first time on screen playing the role.
We started estimating the possibility of his return when they hinted in season one a character that looks, and sounds, just like Fett. In season 1 episode 5, the silhouette of a bounty hunter appears - but, this one had extremely familiar beeps on his suit just like Fett. We were unsure of who that was and what that meant until today.
What does this mean for the timeline? The Mandalorian is set to take place after Boba Fett dies in Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. It is also a possibility that he will play a clone of the beloved bounty hunter, just like in Episode II: Attack of the Clones. Although Boba Fett has continued in different timelines in Disney's assorted media over the years: comics, Clone Wars, video games, etc., this will be his first time live-action in four decades.
But OMG Baby Yoda meeting Boba Fett? This needs to happen. Or maybe they already know each other? Is Boba Fett his dad?! Okay, no... I'm getting too excited here. Although announced as a small role, we're just excited to see his return.
